Consultation Process
Your consultation begins with a confidential, 90-minute session where we explore your needs, goals, and any concerns you may have. This initial appointment allows us to assess whether our therapeutic approach is the right fit for you and to discuss the most appropriate pathway forward.
Together, we review relevant background information, outline the support options available; including standard counselling and equine-assisted therapy and establish a plan that aligns with your wellbeing goals. You are welcome to ask questions at any point, and there is no obligation to continue if the approach doesn’t feel right for you.

Session Outline for Equine-Assisted Counselling
An Equine-Assisted Counselling session begins with a safety and wellbeing check-in, followed by a brief discussion of your goals for the day.
We then move into the arena or paddock, where you’ll engage in ground-based activities with the horse; such as observation, guided interaction, obstacle work, or reflective exercises that are designed to support emotional regulation, insight, and nervous system awareness.
Throughout the session, we will facilitate meaning-making, noticing patterns, and linking your experience with therapeutic themes.
We finish with a debrief to integrate what emerged, discuss any takeaways, and ensure you feel grounded before leaving the session.
